Lessons At Burnby
At Burnby we have a range of lessons to suit all needs and abilities. We work with a large range of riders, including children, adults, people with low confidence/anxiety, individuals with disabilities and SEN. Please get in touch if you have any specific requirements you'd like to discuss with us.
To the right you can see the prices for all our different types of sessions and you can see when these run on our weekly timetable page.
What to wear?
Please dress for the weather (including spectators) as it does get cold. Here's a run down of the main things to wear:
- Long sleeves are essential at all times of year.
- Thin gloves are advisable at all times of the year.
- Close fitting trousers, to help prevent rubs.
- Small boots with a smooth sole and a small heel (no trainers), or wellies.
When the weather is good, don't forget your sunscreen and a bottle for water. We now have a cafe area that overlooks the arena, it has a log burner for chilly days and free water and hot drinks for all.
Do I need my own safety equipment?
We'll fit you with hats and body protectors on arrival.
What Should I bring?
If you're new to us we'll need you to bring a rider registration form, which you can find below.
*pp = per person
Will bad weather stop my lesson?
We will always run if we can, but we also have to consider your safety and the safety of the horses. If we have to cancel due to unsafe conditions, we will give you as much notice as we can. However, please be aware that as weather conditions can change quickly on the wolds, we may need to inform you of cancellations at the last moment.
What if I need to cancel?
We understand that sometimes cancellations can't be helped, but we also have to treat our staff and horses fairly. Due to this we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations made with at least 24 hours notice, will not be charged. However, cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at full rate.
